We are what we eat.

What we eat has a powerful effect on our overall health. We’ve all heard it before, haven’t we?

The fact is we are a highly complex chemical laboratory with eight trillion chemical reactions taking place every second and some will inevitably go wrong if we don’t supply them with the correct raw material.

For optimal health, we need a mixture of carbohydrate, protein, fat, fibre and micronutrients. Plants (go for raw to get the best stuff), fish and a little meat are the go-to sources for that healthy combination. The fresher the better. Go for the organic and free-range where you can. The less we process our food the better it is for us, so if you really want to go all-out plant your own fruit and veg to get the freshest of fresh.

Sadly, that is just not possible for most of us, as the reality of food in the Western world is that the majority of it offers little genuine nourishment.

So, to make up for these shortfalls, we need to supplement.
