Why Fat is so Important
Fat is an excellent source of energy and is very energy dense which makes it ideal to store energy within the body to use when food is scarce. There are other fats that are necessary components of our cell membranes including nerves and the brain and some of these cannot be produced by our bodies and must be obtained in the diet. These are the essential fatty acids or Omega 3 fatty acids.
They are natural anti-inflammatory agents and can also prevent and even reverse, hardening of the arteries that can lead to heart attack and stroke.
